The French Revolution: Social Causes
The third estates felt use because they had to pay the most taxes of the people. They were most of the population. The third estate were forced to wear traditional black robes and had to enter the Estates-General meeting hall by the side door. The first estate was clergy and second estate was nobility and respectively.
